Intermediate Readers is a new series that brings together some of the most well known works of English Literature and some of the most exciting fiction stories ever written. Thanks to the wide range of themes covered, readers are free to choose the kind of story they like best. This makes improving their English all the more entertaining. All the titles in this series have been abridged and simplified to make them suitable for the requirements of the intermediate level reader, although care has been taken to alter the texts as little as possible so that students may appreciate something of the language and style of the original, unabridged work. Footnotes are provided to aid understanding of the text and each volume contains a set of comprehension exercises to revise grammar points and to encourage the students to develop writing skills.
