Sinopse
One of Patricia Highsmith´s major themes is the ease with which a decent person can cross the line into crime. She has created several characters who combine terrible innocence and terrible guilt. "Something You Have to live With" is the story of a young woman, happily married, alone one night with her cat in her new house, unpacking, when suddenly a burglar breaks in and robs her of all her nice things. A night that changes her life as she decides to protect her property. In " A Curious Suicide" an innocent, respectable man is offered the opportunity of murdering an old rival- but the dreadful feeling of guilt never leaves him. "Broken Glass" deals with social injustice, meaningless violence, fear and hopelessness, showing Patricia High smith as a clear-eyed observer of social tragedy.
