Sinopse
On the surface, fifty-three-year-old Rebecca Davitch is outgoing and joyous. After all, giving parties is her vocation - something she slipped into before she even finished college, when Joe Davitch spotted her at a social event in his family´s ornate Baltimore row house. What caught his fancy was that she seemed to be having such a wonderful time. Soon this spirited older man, a divorcé with three little girls, swept Rebecca into his orbit And before long, she was a part of the Davitch clan, having a child, and hosting endless parties in that same high-ceilinged row house.
Now, some thirty years later, after presiding over a disastrous family picnic, Rebecca is caught unawares by the question of who she really is. The story of how she answers it - and tries to recover her girlhood self, that dignified grownup she had once been - is beguiling, funny, and deeply moving.
